Resources Mentioned:

US Food and Drug Administration mandatory recall of herbal supplements with Katom that could be tainted with Salmonella.

There is also a Recalls, Market Withdrawals, & Safety Alerts FDA recall page that list the most recent product recalls with the names of the vendor so you can check out if there is a possibility of concern.

The publication Food Safety News has a write up of the recall effort; there is more than one article More Kratom Capsules Recalled for Salmonella Amid Outbreak gives some of the alternate names of the herb and what the packages look like.

KratomIQ is a informational site that provides basic information about Krantom, the benefits and potential for abuse by users and by some vendors of the product.

I am suggesting it as a place to read about positive and potentially negative information about the supplement. Be aware that the site does have affiliate relationships with some vendors. (They did disclose that fact in the disclaimer.)
